Usos y apropiaciones en la construcción de la imagen de chola en la cumbia huayño de Cochabamba

Abstract

Bolivia es un país rico en manifestaciones culturales, que, en su gran mayoría, resultan de las raíces españolas o influencias de ritmos musicales que llegan de nuestros vecinos en América Latina. Esta mezcla de prácticas y manifestaciones es conocida como hibridación y a través de su estudio es posible identificar los usos y apropiaciones tanto de espacios públicos y rurales como de la imagen de chola. El estudio de la imagen de chola a través de la cumbia huayño puede ser analizado como un fenómeno musical puede traspasar fronteras y generar múltiples fenómenos culturales importantes, además de generar ingresos y movimientos económicos significativos. La investigación permite apreciar a una mujer que asume protagonismo y que refleja en sus canciones el contexto social y político en el que vive, por lo que puede ser apreciada como un ícono cultural en constante transformación en el proceso para convertirse en artista.Bolivia is a country rich in cultural events, they are mostly influenced by Spain and the neighbors countries. This mixture of influences in a communication terms is known as hybridization and through the study of hybridization it can also identify uses and appropriations both public and rural areas as the image of the chola. The study of the image of the chola through huayño and cumbia shows how a musical phenomenon can cross borders and generate not only important cultural movements, but also economic because of the elements involved in audiovisual production, costumes and instruments reach high figures considerably. During the investigation we appreciate a woman who assumes prominence, the songs talks about their life and reflects the social and political context in which they live, the chola is an icon constantly changing and in this case assumes the role of the artist.
