¿Qué significa Pedagogía Crítica frente a la sociedad matematizada?

Abstract

La sociedad matematizada es un hecho que nos obliga a tomar en cuenta el funcionamiento de las matemáticas, como un poder formativo respecto a la actual situación de la sociedad. Por eso, el enfoque de este artículo de la matemática, no explicita de manera ejemplar, sino por su énfasis en el poderoso y significante papel que tienen la matemática para la vida moderna. Consecuentemente, si tenemos interés en una pedagogía y didáctica crítica, los poderes formativos de nuestras sociedades, y entre ellos en lugar central las matemáticas, merecen la atención en sumo grado.

The mathematisation of our societies is a fact that urges us to reconsider the particular formative power of mathematics, that is the ways in which mathematics shape society. It is thus not arbitrary, or by way of example, that this article focuses on mathematics; instead, it acknowledges the significant and powerful role played by mathematics in modern life. As the structuring force of mathematics remains mostly under the surface of technological and socio-technological development, the aim of the article is to uncover the underlying mechanisms and to describe how a critical pedagogy could act on and react to the process of a continuous mathematisation of societies.
