dc.description.abstractThe macroscopic wood anatomy of 86 species collected in Experimental Unit from CaparoForest Reserve (Barinas, Venezuela) is here presented. Descriptions of macroscopicalfeatures are done, and an identification key based on diagnostic features is proposed. 52 %of studied taxa are identified. The most important features for identification are: porosity,ripples marks, included phloem, radial canals and banded parenchyma. Other usefulfeatures are vessels grouping and arrangement. The key proved to be difficult to use withfresh samples so we recommend its application to dry samples.
