Abstract

After a brief historical review of the Departamento de Quimica (DQ-ULA) de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad de Los Andes, Merida, Venezuela, information about undergraduate thesis production during 2000-2004 period is presented. Similarly, information from Universidad Central de Venezuela in the same period is presented, where some similarities have been found relatives to a more and more important female presence and a lower thesis production at the year 2000. A not thorough analysis of the thesis production data in DQ-ULA,considering research group or individual researcher, clearly shown a not uniform distribution of work charge associated to graduate thesis production in the considered period.
