Abstract

This paper proposes an assessment of the research culture of the aesthetic object (arts and design) and how this type of research is regarded in academia. The subject is discussed under the assumption that universities can create the opportunities to encourage research in arts and design. The result is a reflection on the ontology of the work of art, on the mode of existence of certain works or certain arts, on the attention, appreciation and judgment of the aesthetic experience.
