Abstract
The study reviews the bioeconomic model and its possibilities for implementation in Latin America based on the capacities, opportunities and human, cultural and territorial potential of the region. It is recognized that the neoliberal development model has generated a dynamic of institutional changes that has led social movements that have undertaken collective actions in demand for better living conditions and the emergence of governments prone to the creation, strengthening and consolidation of the social status, from structural changes as the foundations of good living.
