Un corte cinematográfico. Notas sobre la producción fílmica en Cochabamba, 1951-1964
Abstract
Este artículo, fragmentario aún, hace un recorrido por la producción cinematográfica en Cochabamba entre 1951 y 1964. Da cuenta, hasta donde las fuentes lo permiten, de las películas (documentales o no) que fueron elaboradas en este periodo desde dos entidades fílmicas fundamentalmente. Se examina, por un lado, la intervención de la Sección Cinematográfica del Departamento de Cultura de la Universidad Mayor de San Simón al mando de René Bilbao y; por otro, la actividad de dos instituciones del Estado: el Departamento Cinematográfico en primera instancia y, luego, el Instituto Cinematográfico Boliviano.
This article is about the Cochabamba's cinematography between 1951 and 1964. It takes into account the movies (documentaries or not) that were produced in this period from two movie entities fundamentally. On the one hand, it shows the intervention of the Cinematographic Section of the Department of Culture of San Simón's Major University which was directed by René Bilbao and; for other one, the activity of two institutions of the State: the Cinematographic Department in the first instance and, then, the Cinematographic Bolivian Institute.
