dc.description.abstractThis article presents a methodology to analyze circular tunnels of thin roof intended for soils or rock beds. The study is directed to assess in advance the safety of the excavation by means of a safety factor FS. The analysis is based on the method of the dowels, passive thrust forces and the definition of the safety factor according to the Mohr-Coulomb's resistance law.
