Introduction: The research follows a quantitative cross-sectional, explanatory and correlational approach framed in a multi-method approach. Objective: To apply a strategy based on data analysis to develop both computational and mathematical thinking. Materials and methods: explanatory, multivariate, correlational and quasi-experimental study. The sample consisted of students from seven secondary schools, three public and four private, located in the city of Cúcuta. Results: the primary data for the research are obtained from the application of pre and posttests to the pedagogical intervention to assess the development of mathematical and computational thinking, results are compared and differences are evaluated to estimate the contribution that the data analysis effectively contributes to the students. Conclusion: It is found that there is a relationship between the development of mathematical thinking and the development of computational thinking and that data analysis contributes significantly to the development of both thoughts.
