El capital social y sus efectos socioeconómicos y políticos
Abstract
Los factores culturales y sociales inciden en el desarrollo y facilitan o dificultan la generación de riqueza. El autor hace un recorrido por la literatura sobre el tema, y muestra cómo, particularmente en América Latina, el capital social aparece como una de las claves para introducir en la lucha contra la pobreza, valores como la reciprocidad, la solidaridad y la cooperación, propios de las comunidades andinas.
Cultural and social factors influence development and facilitate or hamper the generation of wealth. This article reviews the literature on the subject and shows how, particularly in Latin America, social capital emerges as one of the key factors if the values of Andean communities - such as reciprocity, solidarity and cooperation - are to be included in the fight against poverty.
