| dc.description.abstract | The relationships between exposure to violence (EV) and psychological well- being (PW) were analyzed, considering differences by sex, educational level, family structure, and socioeconomic status. A non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational design was used. Participants included 1 039 adolescents aged 12 to 18 years (584 females and 455 males) from a public educational institution in Ecuador. The Exposure to Violence Questionnaire (EVQ) and the Psychological Well- Being Scale (PWBS) were applied. Significant correlations were obtained between EV and PW dimensions, especially in females (rho between -.12 and -.24). Mann- Whitney U analysis determined divergences by sex (p < .01; δ between .13 and .22). The Kruskal-Wallis test revealed differences by educational level (p < .01; δ between .19 and .63), family structure (p < .05; δ between .10 and .17), and socioeconomic status (p < .01; δ between .24 and .39). A negative association between EV and PW is concluded, more pronounced in females, higher educational levels, non-nuclear families, and low socioeconomic status. | en |
