In this article we will analyze the uses of the metaphor that Aristotle makes in several of his treaties in order to corroborate if some of the properties studied in the poetics and in Rhetoric can be applied to the rest of the Aristotelian corpus, that is to say, we will try to find out if Aristotle was consistent with the metaphor as he developed it in the poetics and rhetoric. The methodology will be based on the selection and analysis of three metaphors extracted from the treaties previously mentioned and other texts by Aristotle, of scientific, ethical and ontological character. For all of this we will especially take in to account relevant texts such as De Anima and Eutimio Martino's book Aristotle: the soul and the comparison.
