Inclusión en Latinoamérica. Una reflexión sobre la invisibilización de la comunidad LGBTI+

Abstract

Resumen: Uno de los mayores retos que se tiene al momento de abordar o buscar resolver los problemas sociales, es la invisibilización de los grupos y sus necesidades. Pues bien, esto es algo que, a pesar de 50 años de lucha del activismo LGBTI+ a nivel internacional, sigue presentándose en la región latinoamericana, lo que ha traído muy poca atención por parte de los Estados hacia este colectivo y sus derechos. El objetivo de este artículo, es hacer una reflexión sobre la realidad que vive la comunidad LGBTI+ en cuanto a su bienestar y nivel de vida. Para conseguirlo, se propone una reflexión a partir del contraste de información de tres indicadores: El índice de bienestar de la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económico, The Worst (& Safest) Countries for LGBTQ+ Travel in 2019, y los elementos de inclusión que plantea el Índice de Inclusión LGBTI+ del Banco Mundial y PNUD 2019.

Abstract: One of the biggest challenges we have when we try to solve social problems is the invisibility of the groups and their needs. Well, this is something that, despite 50 years of struggle of LGBTI+ activism at the international level, continues to appear in the Latin American region, which has brought very little attention by the States towards this group and their rights. The objective of this article is to reflect on the reality that the LGBTI+ community lives in terms of their well-being and standard of living. To achieve this, a reflection is proposed based on the contrast of information from three indicators: The welfare index of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), The Worst (& Safest) Countries for LGBTQ + Travel in 2019, and the Inclusion elements raised by the LGBTI+ Inclusion Index of the World Bank and UNDP 2019.
