This article presents the analysis of ceramic material found at the El Tingo site (BA-1), located in Bolívar Province, Ecuador, during the Paleoindian-Formative Project investigations in 1989 and 1992. El Tingo, strategically located at more than 3,000 meters above sea level, shows evidence of Formative occupations with direct affinities to the ceramic traditions of Cerro Narrío and Chorrera. Through an archaeological survey, three ceramic traditions were identified, highlighting a chronological and cultural relationship between the central and southern highlands, as well as connections with the Ecuadorian coast. The study contributes to the understanding of cultural and chronological interactions in the Formative of the Andean region of Ecuador.
