In August 2018, Mali celebrated the second round of the presidential elections in a very tense climate. However, as it was foreseen, President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita (IBK) was re-elected in this country that has suffered since 2012 one of the worst crises since its independence (1960). In the present work we will analyze the challenges that IBK will have to face in its second mandate, before we will stop in the context of the crisis and make a brief assessment of the first period, taking into account that the conflict that Mali is living has great repercussions in the world dynamics.
