The main goal of this essay is to analyze the greek myth of Adonis. The different versions of the myth report nearly related to the world of hunting. But we wonder whether it is a truly hunting myth, or it is one of another kind? The study of the myth and the Adonis cult ritual known as Adonis garden or Adonis' orchard reveals it has an agrarian hidden background. It shows us how the hunting activity is replaced by the agricultural one.
