dc.description.abstractThe teachers of the Nucleo Universitario Rafael Rangel, Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela, have access to various communicative, educational and management ICT tools, allowing them to easily design and manage their teaching, administrative, research and extension activities. However, the development of their communication skills might be affected by the inadequate use of certain ICT tools. This might be caused by the lack of knowledge about how to use these tools and their general benefits. The purpose of this research, framed in a non-experimental paradigm, is to design ICT training strategies for the development of their communicational skills. The main result of this research study is related to the fact that teachers were reluctant to use the ICT tools they have available for them to support their academic and administrative work. Finally, strategies to strengthen teachers’ communicational skills to help them use the ICT tools effectively were designed.
