This article analyzes the changes that the post service that connected Madrid and Cádiz in the late 18thcentury experienced in the are as where the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena y Andalucía were established from 1767 onwards. Its implementation made possible modifications in its lay out as well as an improvement in the service by increasing stops and improving their staffing. In the sameway, through the content of some contracts of lease of post stops and management documentation of the Intendancy of the Nuevas Poblaciones, we will also make an approximation to how those post stops were.
