dc.description.abstractThe article explains the pedagogical literacy of geographical learning to understand complex contemporary conditions. This situation is due to the validity of the teaching of geography with a nineteenth-century accent that, clinging to transmitting school content prevents critical reasoning about the current geographical complexity. In effect, the innovation of pedagogical literacy is promoted in the explanatory function of school geography and in educating citizens in the treatment of their community geographic problems, with their active and leading participation and agitation of reasoning with a critical and constructive accent. Given this object of study, it was necessary to carry out documentary research that allowed us to analyze contemporary conditions, learning innovation and pedagogical literacy. It concludes by promoting the investigation of geographical events by proposing the promotion of scientific and pedagogical research and provides the incentive to study environmental, geographical and social problems, with the purpose of encouraging geographical literacy.
