Interculturality has been privileged in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as a fundamental precept in the recognition of otredad [otherness or diversity]. For this reason, it is necessary to know and assess the ecological knowledge and the linguistic, social, territorial and cultural specificities that for thousands of years, indigenous cultures have developed to establish a harmonious and lasting relationship with nature. In this contribution, the methodological design of an intercultural assessment of the ecological knowledge, referencing a Pemon Taurepan rural community development project of the Venezuelan Guayana is presented.
