This compilation book aims to offer a panoramic perspective about professional research on film studies produced in seven countries of Latin America such as: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru. In each chapter of this volume authors offer an accurate record of national bibliographic production and its praise from specialized criteria. During the first two decades of the new century film studies have increased in Latin America. This trend will continue and will promote an international conversation to create academic cooperation networks, shared video libraries and joint publications. Research on film studies produced in Latin America is facing a growing time which may allow scholars to propose theoretical models with a global scale. Authors hope these chapters can contribute to the consolidation and growth of this emerging field of interdisciplinary research.
