| dc.description.abstract | Se investigó la participación de indígenas y afrodescendientes en el gremio de cereros en La Plata a inicios del Periodo Hispánico (1580-1680) ya que no hay estudios previos sobre el tema. Se identificó a 60 cereros activos, cuya mayor parte trabajaba también en confitería: quince maestros cereros confiteros, 39 oficiales y seis aprendices; de ellos, siete maestros, siete oficiales y tres aprendices fueron indígenas (28,33%); oficialmente, hubo un oficial mulato libre y sólo un aprendiz esclavo (3,33%). Los cereros trabajaban extraoficialmente con esclavos, que podían ser capacitados y revendidos (equivalente al 13,33%). | es |
| dc.description.abstract | The participation of Indians and afrodescendents in the chandlers guild in La Plata at the beginning of the Hispanic Period (1580-1680) were investigated since there are no previous studies on the subject. 60 active chandlers were identified, most of whom also worked in confectionery: fifteen master confectionery chandlers, 39 journeymen and six apprentices; among them, seven masters, seven journeymen and six apprentices were Indian (28,33%); officially, there were only one free mulatto journeyman and a slave apprentice.
