| dc.description.abstract | The Second Spanish Republic recognized women’s suffrage in 1931. Righ-wing parties saw an opportunity to capture the women’s vote, and they were convinced of the need to prepare them to act politically. The Women’s Association of Citizen Education was established for this purpose and, though conferences, election propaganda and welfare work, they got women to vote massively in the 1933 elections. | |
