The central theme of the article is the analysis of the emergence of Tachiren historiography in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century; an extensive bibliographic corpus whose main objective was to publicize the Tachira of the time and its possibilities of economic development, and that although it reflects an interest in carrying out a revision of the region and its capacities from the historical point of view, it is a production within the scope of the traditional, because it reproduced the limitations of that historiography and consolidated a form of exhibition and historical construction on the locality and the region that still prevail.
