ESTRUCTURA FACTORIAL DE MBI-HSS EN FUNCIONARIOS DE PRISIONES DE ARICA-CHILE

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la estructura factorial de MBI-HSS en funcionarios de prisiones de Arica-Chile. Se utilizó un diseño factorial. La población está constituida por todos los funcionarios de prisiones (gendarmes) en la Región de Arica y Parinacota (N = 290). De estos, 243 eran hombres (83,8%) y 47 mujeres (16,2%). El estudio fue aprobado por la Comisión de Investigación y Ética de la Dirección Nacional de Gendarmería de Chile. Maslach Burnout Inventory, en su versión para profesionales de servicios humanos (MBI-HSS) (Maslach y Jackson, 1986, adaptación al español de Gil-Monte, 2005), validado en Chile por Olivares (2009). En conclusión, el cuestionario aplicado en la investigación presentó niveles aceptables en términos de su consistencia interna, lo que indica que sus propiedades psicométricas se ajustan a la aplicación y al contexto de la prisión, además, otras investigaciones concuerdan con los resultados. La presente investigación ha confirmado la estructura tridimensional del MBI-HSS, resultados similares a los de otras investigaciones.

The objective of this study is to analyze the factor structure of MBI-HSS in prison officers of Arica-Chile. A factorial design was used. The population is constituted by all prison officers (gendarmes) in the Region of Arica and Parinacota (N = 290). Of these, 243 were men (83.8%) and 47 women (16.2%). The study was approved by the Commission of Investigation and Ethics of the National Directorate of Gendarmerie of Chile. Maslach Burnout Inventory, in its version for human services professionals (MBI-HSS) (Maslach and Jackson, 1986, adaptation to Spanish by Gil-Monte, 2005), validated in Chile by Olivares (2009). In conclusion, the questionnaire applied in the research presented acceptable levels in terms of its internal consistency, which indicate that its psychometric properties are adjusted to the application and prison context, in addition, other investigations agree with the results. The present investigation has confirmed the three-dimensional structure of the MBI-HSS, results similar to those of other investigations.
