In this paper the analysis of transient wave propagation along a single phase line that includes both, frequency dependence and corona effect is described. The technique of characteristics and recursive convolutions are introduced here. The convolution term in the Radulet equations is handled numerically, first through the Leibnitz rule for differentiating an integral and, then, by synchronizing a recursive convolution scheme with the finite differences mesh prescribed by the characteristic coordinates. Although the corona single phase line model has been developed by other previous work in this paper there are some news results as the inclusion of comparisons with an EMTP based model and the ability of the method of characteristics to deal with truncated tail transient waves.
