dc.description.abstractIn the process of formation of national states in Latin America, the historical analysis is to consider the phenomenon of warlordism. In Venezuela, this phenomenon has decisively influenced the development of political, social and military events, triggered after the Spanish invasion until today. Hence its complexity in terms of its origins, but also from its conceptualization and consequences, for the variety of situations, contexts and prevent generalizations perceive their particular characteristics in urban societies, as a product phenomenon of certain structures of domination implanted under use violence. This time an approach to try caudillism phenomenon, investigating its causes, conceptual approaches and their impact on Venezuelan society, as a key to understanding the political and social development in this southern nation northern South America element.
