AMOR, SATISFACCION EN LA PAREJA Y RESOLUCION DE CONFLICTOS EN ADULTOS JOVENES

Abstract

El propósito de la investigación consistió en determinar la relación existente entre la actitud hacia el amor, los componentes del amor, la resolución de conflictos y la satisfacción en la pareja en adultos jóvenes, casados y convivientes, de la provincia de Concepción, Chile. Participaron 160 sujetos heterosexuales, 97 mujeres y 63 hombres, de edades entre 23 y 40 años, quienes mantenían una relación mayor a un año. Se emplearon la Escala de Ajuste Marital de Locke-Wallace, la Escala Triangular del Amor de Sternberg, la Escala de Actitudes hacia el Amor de Hendrick y Hendrick, el Inventario de Estilos de Resolución de Conflicto de Kurdek y un cuestionario socio-demográfico. Se observó que el componente de intimidad, la actitud eros y el estilo de negociación al enfrentar conflictos, presentan las correlaciones más altas con la satisfacción. Por otro lado, el único predictor positivo de satisfacción es la intimidad, en cambio, la retirada como método de enfrentar conflictos y la actitud ludus eran predictores negativos. Este estudio permite ampliar los conocimientos en las dinámicas de relaciones de pareja en la adultez temprana y brindar nuevas herramientas para la psicoterapia de pareja.

The aim of the present investigation was to determine the relationship between love styles, components of love, conflict resolution and couples satisfaction of young adults, married and cohabiting couples. 160 heterosexual subjects, 97 women and 63 men were involved in the experiment; aged between 23 and 40 years oíd who have got married or live together for at least one year ago. Locke-Wallace's Marital Adjustment scale, the Triangular Love Scale of Sternberg, the love attitude scale of Hendrix and Hendrix, Conflict resolution styles inventory of Kurdek and socio-demographic questionnaire were applied. Is observed that the component of intimacy, the eros attitude and style of negotiation to conflict management, have the highest correlations with satisfaction. On the other hand, the only positive predictor of satisfaction is intimacy; the withdrawal as a method of managing conflicts and ludus attitude were negative predictors. The research gave the opportunity to broaden the knowledge in terms of early adulthood couples dynamics and to offer new tools for couple's psychotherapy.
