El meta-análisis como instrumento de búsqueda y selección de información. Una experiencia en el proceso de selección bibliográfica para el desarrollo de una tesis doctoral

Abstract

El presente articulo pretende mostrar la importancia que tiene el desarrollo de nuevas metodologias creativas para sistematizar la enorme cantidad de datos a que un investigador se encuentra expuesto con las modernas bases de datos informatizadas. Este estudio fue realizado y formo parte del primer capitulo de la tesis doctoral del autor intitulada: “Efectos de la imagen de la inversion directa en el exterior en la formacion de la imagen de marca pais. Una aproximacion empirica aplicada al estudio de la imagen de la inversion espanola en Venezuela”, la cual fue leida en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en el ano 2006, y en ella fue aplicada una novedosa metodologia de revision bibliografica basada en el enfoque meta-analitico del tema objeto de estudio, con la finalidad de justificar y enmarcar la tematica de investigacion dentro de los trabajos academicos mas importantes y relevantes publicados por reconocidos autores a nivel internacional. Se exponen los fundamentos basicos y bondades que para un investigador contemporaneo tiene el empleo y adaptacion de esta forma novedosa de revision sistematica meta-analitica para identificar y justificar la relevancia de un tema de investigacion asi como tambien, para objetivizar los criterios de seleccion de la informacion secundaria que sera utilizada para la elaboracion de una investigacion cientifica Abstrac The present article seeks to show the importance that has the development of creative new methodologies to systematize the enormous quantity of data that an investigator is exposed with the computerized modern databases. This study was part of the first chapter of the Professor’s doctoral thesis Dr. Jose Antonio Tints titled: “Effects of the image of the direct investment in the exterior in the formation of the image of mark country. an empiric approach applied to the study of the image of the Spanish investment in Venezuela”, which was read in the University Complutense of Madrid in the year 2006, and use a methodology of bibliographical revision based on the goal-analytic focus of the topic study object was applied, with the purpose of to justify and to frame the thematic of investigation inside the academic most important and outstanding works published by the most important authors at international level. The basic and kindness of this method are exposed, and is based in the employment and adaptation of this way of systematic goal-analytic revision to identify and to justify the relevance of an investigation topic for a contemporary investigator as well as, to cuantify the approaches of selection of the secondary information that it will be used for the elaboration of a scientific investigation
