dc.description.abstractThe objective of the study is to determine the prevalence of erythrocytosis in people over 20 years of age, inhabitants of the town of Calamarca, of the Calamarca Municipality, of the Aroma Province in Bolivia. It is a descriptive observational cross-sectional study with a field design carried out in a health center in the town of Calamarca. The prevalence identified in people over 20 years of age, inhabitants of the town of Calamarca, which is made up of five main areas. 14% of the men in the sample have erythrocytosis, which represents 3 individuals. In the female gender, only 4% present erythrocytosis, the equivalent of a woman in the sample. When considering the Body Mass Index (BMI) with overweight and obesity, 67% of the sample is overweight, this percentage is the equivalent of 30 people. Considering the age group, those over 60 years of age have a greater prevalence of erythrocytosis. It is concluded that the sociocultural and dietary factors in people over 20 years of age with erythrocytosis in the town of Calamarca were high body mass index, high blood pressure, gender and age group. Among the dietary factors, a high-calorie, low-fiber diet with low intake of cereals, fish and fruits was observed.
