Plasmaféresis, manejo del procedimiento en enfermería pediátrica

Abstract

La plasmaféresis tiene el objetivo de intercambiar plasma del paciente por otra solución. En Bolivia, la aféresis terapéutica pediátrica, inició en el Hospital del Niño recién en el 2019, teniendo desde el inicio un papel relevante el área de enfermería. Actualmente es un procedimiento que va aumentando en su uso no solo en Bancos de Sangre sino en hospitales por sus beneficios e indicaciones en terapias actuales. El objetivo del artículo es poder tener una fuente actual sobre la información, conceptos, preparación antes del procedimiento de plasmaféresis y durante el procedimiento para el personal de enfermería. La búsqueda se hizo en Google académico y Pubmed con las siguientes palabras "plasmaféresis" "enfermería" "practicas" "pediatría" no hubo restricción de tiempo o idioma. No se tomó en cuenta resúmenes, presentaciones power point o páginas web. Se describe en base a síntesis narrativa. Una de las limitantes identificadas es que son muy pocos los estudios que describan el procedimiento de plasmaféresis con equipos en base a centrifugación. Con esta revisión se trata de tener un punto de referencia para el personal médico y de enfermería sobre el procedimiento en equipo que usa el centrifugado para la separación celular.

Plasmapheresis has the objective of exchanging the patient's plasma for another solution. In Bolivia, pediatric therapeutic apheresis began at the Children's Hospital only in 2019, with the nursing area having a relevant role from the beginning. Currently, it is a procedure that is increasing in use not only in Blood Banks but also in hospitals due to its benefits and indications in current therapies. The objective of the article is to have a current source on information, concepts, preparation before the plasmapheresis procedure and during the procedure for nursing staff. The search was done in Google academic and Pubmed with the following words "plasmapheresis" "nursing" "practices" "pediatrics" there was no time or language restriction. Summaries, power point presentations or web pages were not taken into account. It is described based on narrative synthesis. One of the limitations identified is that there are very few studies that describe the plasmapheresis procedure with centrifugation-based equipment. This review aims to have a point of reference for medical and nursing staff on the team procedure that uses centrifugation for cell separation.
