Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the perception of high school students regarding the environmental imbalances of the Huayllay National Sanctuary. The research was carried out in the province of Pasco, Peru. A questionnaire was applied to 255 students who had previously undergone a validation analysis. Regarding abiotic factors, high school students perceive that the water from the Anticona River is not suitable for human consumption, with 59% strongly disagreeing and 34% disagreeing with its drinkability. Regarding biotic factors, students consider that plant resources have a predominantly medicinal importance, with 49% agreeing and 31% strongly agreeing. In relation to the socio-cultural factor, students believe that rock art is being affected by visitors and locals, with 43% agreeing and 14% strongly agreeing. The perception of high school students regarding the environmental problems of the Huayllay National Sanctuary reveals significant concerns about water quality and the use of natural resources.
