Abstract
Educación financiera es el proceso por el que los consumidores financieros desarrollan habilidades y toman decisiones para mejorar su bienestar económico. La investigación deja sentado el hecho de que en países de Asia, Europa y Estados Unidos, la educación financiera de la población universitaria joven, tiene un desarrollo insuficiente y las estrategias de aprendizaje están en un nivel inicial. Se vio también que en algunos países de América Latina no hay suficiente educación financiera en los jóvenes, a pesar de los esfuerzos de instituciones estatales y privadas. Dentro este contexto el presente trabajo, siguiendo un tipo de investigación descriptiva realizada con la población universitaria joven que cursa sus estudios de materias del primer ciclo que ofrece el Departamento de Administración, Economía y Finanzas de la UCBSP, Unidad Académica de Cochabamba; deja establecido que dicha población muestra significativas limitaciones en su comprensión, aplicación y evaluación de acciones relacionadas al ámbito financiero.

Research lets assume the fact that in countries of Asia, Europe and the United States, the financial education of the young university population, has an insufficient development and learning strategies are at an initial level. It was also in some countries of Latin America there is no sufficient financial literacy in young people, despite the efforts of State and prívate institutions. Within this context the present work, according to a type of descriptive investigation carried out with the young university population that studies of materials of the first cycle offered by the Department of management, economics and Finance of the UCBSP, Cochabamba academic unit; leave established that this population shows significant limitations in its understanding, implementation and evaluation of actions related to the fmancial sector.
