Cochabamba: configuración del poder desde la colonia hasta el siglo XX
Abstract
El presente artículo explora la configuración del poder regional cochabambino que se remonta a la colonia hasta finales del siglo XX. Esta mirada histórica tiene el propósito de enfatizar en las continuidades y en las rupturas que se presentaron en el tejido cochabambino. Los procesos sociales (la migración y el mestizaje) y los procesos de intercambio mercantil fueron factores decisivos para la configuración de un bloque popular que se erigieron en actores sociales de acomodo y resistencia a las élites locales.
In this article explores the configuration of regional power in Cochabamba running from the colony until the end of the twentieth century. The purpose of this historical view is to emphasize the continuities and ruptures that occurred in the social fabric of Cochabamba. Social processes (migration and miscegenation) and the processes of mercantile exchange were decisive factors for the configuration of a popular bloc which that became social actors of accommodation and resistance to the local elites.
