Abstract

Aldea Mundo, a journal of University of Los Andes (ULA), Tachira (Venezuela) nucleus, was created in 1996. As a result its 20 years of uninterrupted editorial work, period in which it produced 42 numbers, it was pertinent to develop this research to analyze its trajectory and contribution to the multidisciplinary studies about borders, regional integration, geopolitics and globalization. A documental study, based on the revision of printed and digital copies of this periodic publication, was conducted as well as the statistics from the institutional repository Saber ULA, the scienciometric indicators of REDALYC (2017) and data collected through semi-structured interviews to the editors. It was determined that 277 articles signed by 334 researchers have been published; of which 49, 7 % come from ULA. This fact reveals a high rate of endogamy. This journal has positioned itself within the first places in the nucleus’ journals as it maintains its periodicity and has more visibility.
