Abstract
El tema de las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS) entre estudiantes universitarios es de creciente relevancia en el ámbito de la salud pública, dado que este grupo etario presenta un alto riesgo de contraer estas enfermedades. El objetivo es interpretar los conocimientos y conductas de estudiantes universitarios ante las infecciones de transmisión sexual. Se enmarcó en un enfoque cualitativo, hermenéutica, con diseño documental bibliográfico. La técnica fue una revisión bibliográfica de fuentes de revistas como SciELO, Scopus, Dialnet, entre otros. Se orientó desde el análisis crítico reflexivo. Los resultados revelan la necesidad de adoptar una perspectiva holística para comprender la adquisición del conocimiento. Las conclusiones señalan la necesidad de fortalecer la educación sexual integral en el ámbito universitario, promoviendo un enfoque que aborde los aspectos biológicos, sociales, emocionales y culturales de la sexualidad. Asimismo, es fundamental fomentar el acceso a servicios de salud sexual y reproductiva de calidad, que garanticen confidencialidad y la no discriminación.
The topic of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among university students is of increasing relevance in the field of public health, given that this age group is at high risk of contracting these diseases. The objective is to interpret the knowledge and behavior of university students regarding sexually transmitted infections. It was framed in a qualitative, hermeneutic approach, with a bibliographical documentary design. The technique was a bibliographic review of sources from journals such as SciELO, Scopus, Dialnet, among others. It was guided by critical reflexive analysis. The results reveal the need to adopt a holistic perspective to understand the acquisition of knowledge. The conclusions point out the need to strengthen comprehensive sexual education in the university environment, promoting an approach that addresses the biological, social, emotional and cultural aspects of sexuality. Likewise, it is essential to promote access to quality sexual and reproductive health services that guarantee confidentiality and non-discrimination.
