| dc.description.abstract | In this paper, shear distribution at the walls and at the bottom of rectangular channels are established. Available experimental data are compared with empirical relationships. Similitude between free surface flow and flow and flow and flow under pressure in close conduit has been obtained. The influence of the aspect ratio on shear distribution at solid boundaries has been found. Empirical equations for the prediction of shear distribution have been analysed and compared.
