ACTITUDES HACIA EL MATRIMONIO, EL DIVORCIO Y SU RELACIÓN CON EL CONCEPTO DE AMOR EN JÓVENES UNIVERSITARIOS

Abstract

En un contexto donde vivimos transformaciones políticas, sociales, económicas, tecnológicas, culturales, la juventud ha sufrido ciertas alteraciones respecto a sus actitudes frente al matrimonio, el divorcio y su relación con el concepto de amor por lo cual se investigó en una muestra de 225 jóvenes universitarios de la carrera de Psicología de dos universidades privadas de las ciudades de La Paz-Bolivia e Iquique-Chile. Donde se utilizó dos instrumentos uno para identificar las Actitudes hacia el matrimonio y divorcio de (García y Reyes, 2007) y el otro para identificar el concepto de amor según la Escala del amor de (Sternberg, 1986). Resultados evidencian que el tipo de amor en jóvenes paceños es el amor de compañeros (I+C) obteniendo 44,3% en intimidad y 43,0% en compromiso, el cual significa que existe intimidad y compromiso de amistad a largo plazo, como en los matrimonios sin pasión. Mientras que los iquiqueños poseen un tipo de amor romántico donde predomina más la intimidad y pasión (I+P) obteniendo 62,3% en intimidad y 57,3% en pasión, que es la atracción física y emocional, pero sin compromiso. Por otro lado, en cuanto a las actitudes hacia el matrimonio y divorcio, los jóvenes paceños tienen una actitud favorable con 46,8%, es decir, están totalmente de acuerdo con el factor apertura al divorcio, no obstante, los jóvenes iquiqueños tienen una actitud desfavorable con 50,7%, es decir, están totalmente en desacuerdo con el factor visión del matrimonio tradicional.

In a context where we experience political, social, economic, technological, cultural transformations, youth has undergone some alterations regarding their attitudes towards marriage, divorce and their relationship to the concept of love so it was investigated in a sample of 225 young university students from the Psychology career of two private universities in the cities of La Paz-Bolivia and Iquique-Chile. Where two instruments were used one to identify attitudes towards marriage and divorce from (García y Reyes, 2007) and the other to identify the concept of love according to the Love Scale of (Sternberg, 1986). Results show that the kind of love in young paceños is the love of peers (I+C) obtaining 44,3% in intimacy and 43,0% in commitment wich means that there is intimacy and commitment of friendship in the long term, as in marriages without passion. While Iquiqueños have a type of romantic love (I+P) obtaining 62,3% in intimacy and 57,3% in passion is most physical and emotional attraction, but without compromise. On the other hand, with regard to attitudes towards marriage and divorce paceños young people have a favorable attitude with 46,8%, that is, they totally agree with the factor openness to divorce, however, young Iquiqueños have an unfavourable attitude with 50,7%, that is, they totally disagree with the vision factor of traditional marriage.
