This study intends to know the level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction related to the function and aesthetics of the patient and the opinion of a close family patient with the total denture once inserted. The studied population was 29 patients with new conventional total denture and 29 close family patients. To determine the satisfaction or dissatisfaction two instruments were designed, one for the patient and another one for the close family patient, these instruments were constructed by a set of questions containing aspects related to function, self-satisfied, aesthetic and participation. A 89.7% of the patients declared to be very satisfied with the function, only 3.4% felt very dissatisfied, 79.3% said to speak properly and 86.2% to eat better. 13.8% showed slight satisfaction respect with aesthetic and 10.3% of the close family patient were slightly dissatisfied. The test Tau-c de Kendall did not find statistically significant association between the studied variables (p= 0.407 and p= 0.343). 58% of the close family patient would find much satisfaction in participating in the selection as opposed a 24% of the patients. 70% of patients showed that its quality of life was improving. The satisfaction was high respect to function, aesthetic of the inserted total denture, is relevant that the double of the close family patient with respect to the patient declared to want to take part in the selection of the artificial teeth.
