References are made to the public health problem of the venoming by animals especially by arthropods, particularly in tropical countries. Emphasis is placed on the spiders, scorpions, wasps, bees, and ants. It is shown that there is under recording of the stings due to the low intensity of the pain caused. In Venezuela, the stings by scorpions are more reported in the health centers than those of other arthropods. There is a difference between the injuries caused by spiders and scorpions as compared with those by insects (wasps, bees, ants). The benefits of the arthropods to man, his health, crops, and other goods are explained. The symptoms of some ants stings in Venezuela are described. The fact of animals not attacking for pleasure but only for defense or food is highlighted.
