dc.description.abstractIn the work, a simulation model of an academic staff promotion process is presented, utilizing the Systems Dynamics methodology. This process corresponds to the one carried out at the University of the Andes. Direct observation and available documentation were used to devise a description of the real system. The model was built following this description and it was also tested and contrasted with those patterns obtained from real data. Some scenarios were evaluated where the results were interesting for the EISULA’s Department of Operations Research and might also be taken as the base for comparative studies between schools and faculties at the University of the Andes.
