In a review of the most important history texts in Venezuelan historiography concerning with the country’s process of independence, is notice that the main problem behind the study of the colonial provinces, is the centralist vision inside the Venezuelan history, which implies the need of revision since a local and regional viewpoint on this significant historical period. On the contrary, it would disagree with the existence of regional particularities, which are essential for both the study of the Nation as whole and the Nation state subsequent inclusion in an international scene. This work aim to appreciate how is seem historiographicaly the independence process of the province of Guayana, in contrast with the traditional centralistic view of Venezuelan independence. In order to expose whether the lack of knowledge in the regional specificities during the independence process in Venezuela justifies the fact that such specificities are ignored in the historical analyses.
