In the present article, we will use a tool based on Software Defined Radio (SDR) [1] and USRP (Universal Serial Radio Peripheral) N200 [2] to measure I/Q imbalance impairments such as Amplitude Imbalance, Quadrature Error as well as Residual Carrier, which get worse the quality of the digital television base band signal. These parameters evaluate the performance of a Digital Television modulator [11]. Moreover, we will also measure the Signal-to-Noise Ratio and the Modulation Error Ratio, the latter will provide a single “figure of merit” analysis of the received signal in order to summary all impairments present from transmitter to receiver.
