"YO NACÍ EN LA CASA DE GABRIEL RENÉ MORENO": Memoria y Legado de Lucha por la Integración Chileno-Boliviana de Leonardo Jeffs Castro (1938-2015)

Abstract
El presente artículo corresponde a una biografía y transcripción de la última entrevista al historiador chileno, académico universitario, militante por la integración latinoamericana y la causa marítima boliviana, Leonardo Jeffs Castro. Esta fue realizada meses antes de su muerte en Valparaíso el año 2015. El profesor Jeffs deja un legado imperecedero por su labor como educador para la integración continental y su alegato a favor de la causa marítima boliviana. Dedicó su vida y obra a esta luchadesde 1969 hasta su muerte. Difundió, a su vez, el legado de su paso por Chile de Gabriel René Moreno, Manfredo Kempff Mercado, Roberto Prudencio y Jorge Siles Salinas, entre otros. Incansable impulsor de los encuentros intelectuales binacionales chileno-bolivianos, aprendió a conocer, amar y entender los sentimientos del pueblo boliviano, sus anhelos y sensibilidades. La presente contribución se estructura de la siguiente forma: extractos de sus memorias a través de lo que fue la última entrevista y subsecuentemente se ahonda en los hitos fundamentales presentes en su bio-bibliografía
This article corresponds to a biography and a transcription of the last interview given by the Chilean historian, university academic, Latin America integration and Bolivian maritime cause activist, Leonardo Jeffs Castro. This was made a few months before he passed away in the year 2015 in Valparaíso. Professor Jeffs leaves an endless legacy for his duty as an educator for the continental integration and his advocacy in favor of the Bolivian maritime cause. He dedicated his life and work to this fight from 1969 until his death. He spread, in turn, the legacy, from his time in Chile, of Gabriel René Moreno, Manfredo Kempff Mercado, Roberto Prudencio and Jorge Siles Salinas, among others. Tireless promoter of the binational Chilean-Bolivian intellectual meetings, he learned to know, love and understand the feelings of the Bolivian people, their sensitivities and desires. This contribution is structured as follows: extracts from his memories through his last interview, and subsequently deepened in his main milestones found in his bio-bibliography
