Ascorbic acid is one of the most important antioxidants extracellular level, is an essential vitamin and an important water-soluble antioxidant that is chemically synthesized from glucose through a series of enzymatic reactions. Ascorbic acid functions as cofactor in several hydroxylation and amidation reactions; as well as in the conversion of proline and lysine residues procollagen hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine to during collagen synthesis; also participates in the oxidation of the side chains of lysine to carnitine formation in the conversion of folic acid into folinic tissue level Acid drug metabolism and in the hydroxylation of dopamine to form norepinephrine. A dermal level has been widely accepted as to its use as an active element in local intradermal sessions for its essential role in connective tissue. This review demonstrates that its use in aesthetic medicine can be an important ally in the anti-aging treatment
