El Derecho venezolano en el siglo del medio ambiente

Abstract

The environment is one of the priorities for the XXI Century. From the legal perspective, it can be considered as the century of Environmental Law. Currently, the social state recognizes the right of citizens to enjoy an acceptable environment and establishes its effective protection. In this context, Environmental Law has been strengthening its legal status as well as it field of subject. The aim of this paper is to describe the evolutionary process of Venezuelan Environmental Law, which began to be structured from environmental issues in the 1961 Constitution and currently in the 21st Century reinforced its judicial rank in the 1999 Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
