Abstract

La concepcion indigena de Miguel Acosta Saignes representa un eje fundamental en sus estudios acerca de las divisiones sociales, sobre la base de un pensamiento antropologico que tuvo sus comienzos con la formacion que recibio en la Escuela Nacional de Antropologia e Historia de Mexico y la influencia del materialismo historico dialectico, lo cual impulso sus investigaciones acerca de la vida y significacion historica de las etnias indigenas en la cultura venezolana y latinoamericana, hacia el conocimiento y comprension de la historia que promueve el respeto a las identidades culturales, la dignidad humana y la autodeterminacion de los pueblos. A bstract The indigenous conception of Miguel Acosta Saignes represents an axis fundamental in its studies about the social divisions, on the base of an anthropological thought that had its beginnings with the formation in the National School of Anthropology and History of Mexico and the influence of the dialectic historical materialism, which impelled its investigations about the life and historical meaning of the native ethnic groups in our Venezuelan and Latin American culture, towards the knowledge and understanding of the history that promotes the respect to the cultural identities, the human dignity and the self-determination of the towns.
