Teorías sobre montaje audiovisual
Abstract
Este artículo es una síntesis del trabajo de grado homónimo defendido el año 2010. En él se analiza y confronta diferentes propuestas teórico-tecnológicas en el área de montaje audiovisual (o edición audiovisual). Entre estas propuestas se incluyen planteamientos narrativos, conceptuales, estéticos, retóricos y semiológicos de diferentes autores. El montaje audiovisual se ha desarrollado progresivamente desde la creación del cinematógrafo. Las propuestas teóricas sobre montaje se supeditan tanto a los nuevos descubrimientos técnicos como a la aparición o generación de tendencias estéticas y/o coyunturas históricas. "Lo audiovisual" es un producto y concepto de la modernidad. En el artículo se propone que el montaje es la etapa creativa en la que se consolida el mensaje audiovisual, una característica que permite distinguir al mismo como una etapa hegemónica en el proceso de creación audiovisual.
This article is a summary of the homonym thesis defended in 2010. Consists of an analysis and comparison of different theoretical and technological approaches in the area of audiovisual montage (or visual editing) which includes narrative, conceptual, esthetic, rhetoric, and semiotic proposals from different authors. Audiovisual montage has been developing progressively since the creation of the cinematograph. The theoretical approaches about editing are subject to new technological discoveries as well as to the coming up of esthetic trends and/or historical developments. "The audiovisual" is a product and a concept of modernity. The article proposes the montage as the creative stage in which the filmmaker consolidates the audiovisual message of its work. So montage can be considered as a hegemonic stage in the process of audiovisual creation.
