Abstract
The census is an essential tool for the development of a country, a region or a locality. With this idea as the starting point, and in the lead-up to the 2012 National Population and Housing Census, T'inkazos invited five researchers to take part in an online dialogue about the multiple uses of the information generated by the census. These contributions are complemented by four articles about the census and indigenous peoples, urbanization processes, the farming and rural sector, and population policies.
