Abstract
Este estudio examina el emprendimiento hispano en el contexto de la formación de ciudades globales, centrándose en el área metropolitana de Washington D.C. y en las actividades empresariales de los inmigrantes bolivianos. La autora pone de relieve las características socioeconómicas de los bolivianos, el patrón espacial de los lugares de negocios, así como las estrategias que el grupo emplea. Este grupo se distingue por un mayor nivel de educación, ingresos y empleo por cuenta propia.
This study examines Hispanic entrepreneurship in the context of global city formation, focusing on the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and the business activities of Bolivian immigrants. The author highlights the socioeconomic characteristics of the Bolivian entrepreneurs, the spatial pattern of their places of business, and the strategies that the group uses. This group is distinguished by a higher level of education, income and self-employment.
